The Royal Society of Sculptors was created more than 100 years ago to champion contemporary sculpture and the artists who create it.

The Royal Society of Sculptors champions sculpture and the artists who create it. As a member, you will join our professional network of sculptors from around the world. We support and inspire our members at all stages of their career.

Our membership gives you access to expert knowledge, advice and opportunities, expands your network and keeps you to up to date. It also gives you recognition: Members and Fellows can use professional accreditation after their name, MRSS and FRSS accordingly.

The sculptor members of our Board review all applications and select new members by majority vote. There are two rounds of applications each year, in March and September.

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS 2018

The Royal Society of Sculptors invites professional artists who work in three dimensions as a significant part of their practice to apply for Membership. Successful applicants will demonstrate a high level of expertise, experience, and contemporary understanding; their work must contribute to the language of sculpture. Membership applications are reviewed twice per year, March and September and selection is by majority vote by the sculptor members of the Society’s Council. 

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

Closing date for September 2018 submissions: 5.00pm Tuesday 31 July 2018.

You will be notified via email of the outcome of your application by the end of October.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

Established, national or international, professional artists who make sculpture in any of its forms as a significant part of their practice, whose work contributes to the language of sculpture and who can demonstrate a high level of expertise, experience, and contemporary understanding.

APPLICATION INFORMATION

All applicants will be required to complete an online application. This comprises of:

CV (no more than 2 pages)

Artist statement (250 words max)

Up to 10 images (1MB or less and that it is a JPEG, TIFF or PNG file format)

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FEE

The membership application fee is £22.50.
